How To Stay In Great Shape While Staying At Work

So many people blame having a 9-5 job for their expanding waistlines. Working on spreadsheets, investment in stocks documents, and others leave no room to hit the gym. However, there are some things you can do to work out during office hours. Read on to learn how to stay fit and keep your career at the same time.

Aside from going for healthy food options, you should also consider where you eat for lunch. Get out of your building and walk and look for a restaurant suited for weight watchers like you. If you bring your own lunch, brisk walk to a public park and eat it there. If not possible, share the table with a colleague who’s also into fitness.

Instead of finding the closest parking space to your building, find the farthest available space. Then walk to your building to burn off extra calories. If the weather permits, ride a bicycle to work from time to time. On your way up to the office, ditch the elevator. Take the stairs to work out your abs and legs.

Take quick breaks every now and then, instead of staying at your computer workstation desk non-stop. However, quit those which involve surfing the net or dropping by networking sites. Take a brisk walk around the workspace or the building. Saunter to the farthest desk and have a little chat with a colleague. Help in running a few office errands to burn extra calories.

While performing your image editing wizardry or stock trading strategies, find little strategies to work out while working. For a few minutes daily, replace your chair with a large medicine ball to keep your tummy tight. Wear athletic shoes to help you get moving faster. Aim for things that’ll require you to walk, like the farthest water dispenser or comfort room.

Got a private office? Lock the door at times and quickly do some exercise routines. To work out your arms and chest, do some push ups. To keep your tummy looking great, perform some crunches or leg lifts. Lunges will help keep your behind and thighs in top form. Do a few biceps curls using dumbbells you can easily stash in the drawers.

Lastly, you may ask the company to provide a few wellness or fitness programs. You may volunteer to register everyone at some sporting event, like fun runs, run for a cause, etc. Ask the company if subscription to health or fitness clubs may be part of the reimbursements. Even at work, there’s no reason to completely abandon working out.
